For Adoption: Ray Ray (Kitten with no eyes) & Rocky Balboa

Talk about two peas in a pod. Well these two black peas are foster brothers. The same color, the same gender (male), the same age, these two kittens are thrilled to have eachother as playmates.

Ray Ray, born in Little Haiti in Miami,  was born without eyes  but he can still walk, climb, and jump. His fur is super soft.  He acts like any other kitten. So do not worry about him! Worry about yourself and your food. He loves to eat and will find a way to jump or climb to get to food.

Rocky Balboa of Miami (Rocky for short), was discovered alone in downtown Miami. Somehow he disconnected from his mother. Thankfully he was saved from fast moving vehicles. Rocky has jet black satin fur and is quick as lightening. He also loves to snuggle.

 Both kittens are 5 months and ready for permanent home. Vaccinated, blood test for feline aids and leukemia were negative, pending neutering.

The adoption fee is normally $85 per kitten, but adopt both kittens for one fee and when you adopt R&R you also receive this lovely adoption kit. A cat carrier, three books: a resource manual and two nonfiction stories

Meet the latest Riverfront rescue kitty--an all black kitten named Rocky!

Rocky at 9 weeks

Rocky was found as a stray on the property, apparently separated from his mother and siblings. He is currently 10 weeks old and has clean bill of health, negative blood tests, and first round of vaccinations.

Rocky is snuggable, loveable and playful. While he initially hides when guests arrive, it doesn't take him long to appear and show off his running, jumping and tackling-of-toys skills. He's very active and would love another active playmate that welcomes his boxing, tackling and other athletic skills.

Meet Lila, Finn and Stitch

 

Meet Stitch, Finn and Lila. These beautiful kitties (1-1 1/2 years old) have been with Catopia Cat Rescue since July 2014. And we are looking for their forever Valentine's date (Florida).

Lila is the princess, loves attention and to sit by the window to see the world go by. 

Stitch is Lila's brother (loves her very much), super laid back and can get along with any situation.

Finn is always looking for something to do, a real entertainer with a very silky coat. He will do great in an active household with other animals.

All have been fully vetted, including de-worm, and de-flea, fully vaccinated , spayed-neutered, and microshipped.

For Adoption: Fearless Dasher

 

This latest rescue male kitten is 10 weeks old. We just had our naming contest for him. Here were the choices.
Noah--after Noah's ark because he was found mostly submerged in floodwaters when we had nonstop rain for a week
Tweedy- as in Tweed coat due to his fur color and markings
Dasher-because he dashed every where as rescuers tried to capture him for three hours! In the woods, bushes, leaping tall cars in a single dash...until finally he went into the pet carrier and the rescuer was able to shut the door. Ah ha!

He's definitely a male--mischievous and fearless, scampering, climbing legs like tree trunks...

So the tallies are in and his name is Dasher!
Dasher is litterbox trained and fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped and now ready for his forever loving home.

Displaced Demoliton Kitties!

These beautiful black beauties are up for adoption are the newest rescue cats from downtown Miami.

All four kittens had an eye infection. However, they were rescued and treated and lucky to be alive where wrecking crews and demolished buildings are daily occurrence overtaken by construction cranes.

Two were adopted. And two are left.

Meet Lila and Lucky!

Lila is a petite 5 month old who is very shy but definitely will warm up to the right person with time, love and care.  She's quiet, curious, and loves being with her brother, Lucky.

Lucky is affectionate, curious, and very playful.  He's an absolute sweetheart. He would make an amazing pet. They both need someone that will give them lots of love and attention.

They have been tested and are up to date with all their shots.

If you can adopt them together since they are very attached to each other, that is ideal.  If not, they each deserving loving homes.
It's always best to adopt two together, especially if they were raised together.

Jinx and Juju: Inseparable Siblings for Adoption

UPDATE: ADOPTED AUGUST 2015

These sweet siblings are Jinx and Juju. She and her brother were separated from their mother at an incredible young age, which made Jinx develop a fear of abandonment. She is very kind, gentle and loving and loves to cuddle and getting pet.

Juju on the other hand, craves adventure. He’s a rambunctious, boastful, playful, little daredevil.  In the presence of his sister he appears to be fearless, but it’s just a facade.  At heart, being separated from his mother has made this kitten a softie, hopelessly dependent on his sister.  He’ll often lose track of her playing with his toy mice, then frantically look for her.  He won’t sleep unless he nestled up against his sister with a paw around her.

Given their situation, there is no place these kitties would rather be than in the embrace of someone that loves and cares for them.

Domino's Latest Update

Domino is still unsure of all this shuffling from place to place. But he doesn't complain.  At least the pesky cone is off.  Much easier to pet him and show him some people do care and will never dump him.  He's not shy of strangers! Maintenance man came to do repairs and he didn't flinch or act nervous. We're sure he could learn to go on regular outings and travel.

Introducing Daisy, Tiger, Chrome and Eddie! These four siblings are being  fostered by Dennis and Janice, who rescued them from their neighborhood after their mother died. Let's get to know them a little bit and maybe you can pick your favorite or maybe end up falling in love with one or two or all of them.

This sweet little girl has lots of love to give. She loves to play with her brothers and graciously accepts their protective catitudes, always keeping her in their sights. Hey--she's the only female in the bunch. She has all her shots and is already spayed. Daisy is ready for a new home. Tiger

Don't be scared by his big cat name.  He is a "Tiger" when it comes to playing, but he will entertain you for hours just so you'll know what a romp 'em, stomp 'em boy he is. Chrome

Strong as the metal, Chrome, is not shy at all. He loves to play and getting his head rubbed. He has been an excellent guardian to his sister Daisy,  watching over her since they were kittens. (Maybe we should have named the boys the "Dukes of Hazard"!)  Just look at his soft gray coat! He is neutered and has all of his shots. Eddie

Named after the character “Eddie Munster” from the TV series “The Munsters”. He has white patches behind his ears, just like his Grandpa Munster. He loves to sit on peoples laps and get his head and body rubbed. Eddie is real purring machine and loves to entertain everyone.

Update: We are happy to announce that Eddie just got ADOPTED! We are so excited for Eddie and we are sure he is going to make his new family very happy.

We hope Eddie's brothers and sisters have the same luck as him and find a new home who will love them and take good care of them. Every homeless kitten or cat deserves a second chance to be happy.

Remember--it's always better to adopt two kittens versus one. There are many benefits for you and the kittens, especially if they are siblings.  

For Adoption: Millie & Tillie

Think of a precious heirloom passed around from owner to owner. But each move risks the fragile nature of this keepsake. This is the story of Millie & Tillie.

These stunning feline sisters have been bounced around like used tennis balls. Their first owner dropped them off at a kill shelter. Thankfully a local rescue organization saved them and found them a new home. Sadly, they were "returned" a year later. The son of the family developed "severe allergies". Millie & Tillie are back in foster care. 

Millie is the brave one and hence the leader. Tillie, on the other paw, loves to reach out with her paws to "grab" your attention. They love to be petted and hugged. If they are physically separated too long, they meow in search for the other. These sisters have strong bond and will not be separated.

Despite bouncing from home to home, it's that bond that keeps them grounded, sweet natured and open-hearted, ready to accept a permanent home.

Remember adopting adult cats is much easier than adopting kittens. You know their personality and disposition and don't have to worry about your furniture and decor getting destroyed or shredded. These are fine ladies at two years of age.

We often say, "I'd like to give back to the American men and women that serve in the military".  Indeed they give up so much and ask for nothing in return. How can you help? Well if you love pets, here's how.

Sadly a disabled veteran, Beverly,  has passed away. She had 12 cats and a service dog.  Therefore, as you can imagine, we are working hard to find homes for them. The good news is that six cats and the service dog have new homes. But now we need to find homes for the remaining six cats. Because Beverly was home all the time, the cats are very affectionate.

Please consider adopting an adult cat. There are many benefits: they don't tear up your home like kittens and you know their personality and temperament.

Joy and Jesse are sister and brother and were bottle fed by Beverly since they were kittens. They are very attached to one another and the goal is to keep them together. Both are very affectionate and want  lots of attention.

Onyx is another all black cat and he is 5 years young. He had throat surgery as a kitten and when he meows, it sounds like a whisper.  Onyx he's a big boy like Morris and they are best buddies and play together.
