Name the Blind, Black Kitten & Give Hope

And here he is...an all black 10 week old kitten rescued from Little Haiti neighborhood. And he's extra special. He's mostly blind. Our first one at Riverfront Cats. Thanks to a teamwork effort by local residents, this kitten will get the TLC and medical attention to regain as much of his eyesight as possible all while living indoors in a loving, nurturing, cage-free environment.

This little guy needs two things...a name and your help.

Kitten doesn't want to be let go.  He knows he has been rescued.

With mating season and many stray kittens multiplying, our funding is drying up quickly.  To help this blind kitten get the immediate care he needs and to see an eye specialist, simply click the Donate button below with your contribution. No amount is too small or too large!

He's still handsome and special to us.

After initial treatment, this kitty will be ready for adoption. If you are interested, please email us at riverfrontcats@yahoo.com.

‎Daffney is the latest Miami Riverfront rescue Calico kitten!

She's a calico as seen by her soft tri colors of white, caramel and gray.

At 10 weeks young, Daffney is a dynamo and loves to play chase, hide-and-go-seek but she's also a lover and will meow to pick her up, pet her, feed her, pay attention to her... best of all she rubs her chin and whiskers against your chin and face. This is called "marking". That means she's claiming you as hers!  ‎She also gives lick kisses! Daffney runs, jumps, and snuggles with you in bed. She may lay across your chest like a fur collar or nestle in between your shoulder and chest. Oh yes. She'll look at you and raise her chin to signal she wants you to scratch her.   Communication and Love. The recipe for purrfect relationship.

Daffney would love to have another kitten playmate. She's good with cat friendly dogs too!

She is healthy, had both rounds of vaccinations and rested negative for FIV and FeLV.‎ We will provide certificate to get her spayed. All vet records will be provided.

To meet Daffney please contact us at 305 771-3163 or email us at riverfrontcats@yahoo.com.

Queenie Needs You, Not a Palace

Queenie is wondering what's next for her

This black beauty is Queenie, with a name like this you must think she was living in a palace. Well, this was sort of her case. This lady in distress was abandoned at The Palace senior living facility in Kendall. She was rescued by our volunteer Christina who immediately took her to the vet.

Our sweet Queenie at the vet
According to the vet she is around nine years old or more.  She is very friendly, gentle and is always looking for attention and food which clearly indicates she may have been someone's kitty. However, our friend noticed she was growing weaker and weaker, having to compete with other strays for food, not having access to clean water, and no visible shelter which made her so frail and thin that those who know her started to worry how she would manage in extreme weather.

Christina started bringing her food and then finally brought her inside in March in hopes to nurse her back to health. For a over a month, she was doing well. But her tummy is swollen and harder than normal, and then she shows signs of not holding her food down, then stopped eating altogether about a week ago. The vet is diagnosing possible Irritable Bowel Disorder, or intestinal lymphoma, which only an ultrasound and surgery could confirm.

Dr. Donocoff currently has Queenie on Prednisone, Flagyl, and Pepsid. They will hold off on doing the Ultrasound ($390) and exploratory surgery ($638) if she does well on the medication. But a second vet did review her x-ray and fears there may be an obstruction. Her current vet bill is $200+. See below for a copy.
